·No Doubt officially kicked off their Las Vegas Sphere residency Wednesday night, and they went all in on the band’s history, their Anaheim roots, and the full “Tragic Kingdom” universe.
·Gwen Stefani also made history as the first female headliner at Sphere, leading the band through a two-hour, 21-song show filled with massive visuals, deep nostalgia, and hits like “Just a Girl,” “Don’t Speak,” “Spiderwebs,” “Hella Good,” and “Sunday Morning.”
·The show leaned heavily into “Tragic Kingdom,” with No Doubt performing 10 of the album’s 14 songs.
·They also brought in songs from “Return of Saturn” and “Rock Steady.”
·One of the biggest visual themes of the night was oranges, a tribute to the band’s Orange County roots. Fans were greeted with an “Anaheim California 1987” sign, wooden crates of oranges, old-school posters, ticket stubs, and visuals that sent the crowd through an orange grove and amusement park world.
·During “Don’t Speak,” foam oranges even rained down from the ceiling, a Sphere-style surprise tied to the band’s “Tragic Kingdom” story.
·Gwen also wore an updated version of her famous navy-and-white polka-dot dress from the “Don’t Speak” video, this time with a little Vegas sparkle.
·The show included new visuals of the band recreating their classic “Spiderwebs” and “Just a Girl” looks as they are now, which made the nostalgia feel current instead of frozen in the ’90s.
·The residency continues through May and June, with shows scheduled through June 13.
