· Taylor Swift appeared on the New Heights podcast yesterday, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce.
· She confirmed her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl will be released on October 3, featuring 12 tracks.
· The title track will include a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.
· Swift shared the album cover during the episode, describing it as herself floating in water with the title in orange font.
· She said she wanted an offstage moment on the cover because the album is about what happened behind the scenes of the Eras Tour.
· The tracklist includes “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Father Figure,” “Actually Romantic,” “Cancelled!” and “Honey,” with the title track closing out the album.
· She revealed the album was created in the middle of touring, flying to Sweden on off-days between shows to record.
· She described herself as “physically exhausted” but “mentally so stimulated and excited” while working on it.
· Swift said she wanted melodies “so infectious you’re almost angry at it” and lyrics that are “vivid, crisp, focused, and completely intentional.”
· She got emotional recounting how she finally got her masters back, sending her mom and brother to negotiate directly with Shamrock Capital instead of a legal team.
· Swift revealed she was in Kansas City with Travis after the Super Bowl when her mom called to say, “We got your music.”
· She dropped to the floor crying, and Travis thought something was wrong until he joined her in tears.
· On her relationship with Travis, she admitted she knew nothing about football at first, thinking “everyone was on the field at the same time.”
· She praised him for not judging her, and now says she loves the game.
· Taylor also joked that New Heights “got her a boyfriend” after Travis publicly complained about not getting to meet her, likening his courtship to “standing outside my window with a boombox” and making her a friendship bracelet.
