o    At a Wednesday hearing in her conservatorship, a judge ordered that Spears’ father be suspended as conservator of her estate immediately.

o    Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny heard arguments and ordered the removal of Spears' father, Jamie Spears. Spears had also petitioned to dissolve the 13-year legal arrangement entirely.

o    Fans of Britney and critics of the conservatorship gathered in front of the courthouse ahead of the hearing to show rally behind the embattled singer.

o    CNN reports that Jamie Spears will be replaced temporarily as conservator of Spears’ estate by public accountant John Zabel,

o    The Blink-182 member just got some great news!

o    His oncologist says he is cancer-free!

o    Back in June, he revealed that he had been quietly battling cancer and he underwent chemotherapy for lymphoma.

o    Mark says he still has to get cancer screenings every 6 months and it will take him some time to “get back to normal” but he’s thrilled.

o    He said, “Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love.”

o    Poll: Parents feel more comfortable letting kids go trick-or-treating this year than last.

o    When asked 68% say they see little or no risk in trick-or-treating.

o    That’s 17% more than those who were willing to take part in the Halloween tradition last year.

o    The director of the CDC says trick-or-treating should be safe for kids as long as they’re in small groups.

#Astro

o    Amazon had their fall product event, where they unveiled a bunch of new gadgets, including a home robot named Astro.

o    Amazon’s Astro is equipped with a rotating screen that’s mounted onto a base with wheels. 

o    Amazon designed the robot to appear animated and friendly, with eyes and expressive body movements that respond to user interaction.

o    For those worried about privacy, Amazon said Astro’s camera, microphone and motion sensors can be switched off by pressing a button.

o    Users can also designate “out of bounds zones,” or certain rooms that are off limits to the robot.

o    The Astro costs $999.99 and is available via invitation only. Amazon didn’t reveal a release date for the robot, but it said it will begin granting invitations later this year.
