Imagine it’s 2003. You’re on the set of a Vanity Fair photo shoot with Amanda Bynes, Ashley Olsen, Mary-Kate Olsen, Mandy Moore, Alexis Bledel, Evan Rachel Wood, Raven-Symoné and Lindsay Lohan.

It’s an iconic round-up of talent for an iconic image.
But while you’d imagine that the shoot would be a “career high” for a teen actor, Hilary Duff recently revealed that it was actually a nerve-wracking experience.
“Explain career high,” Duff replied during Vanity Fair‘s “Lie Detector Test” video series when asked about the shoot.
“Like personal high or just like a big achievement? I remember being like, ‘This is cool I was included in this,’ but no, this was a very high stress, anxiety-inducing day,” she explained.
The shoot, which was headlined “It’s Totally Raining Teens,” featured a roster of teen stars at the height of their career.
Duff was just 15-years-old and coming off of the success of Disney Channel’s “Lizzie McGuire” with her movie career also blossoming thanks to “Cheaper by the Dozen” and “A Cinderella Story.”
She was also nursing a broken heart following her split from Aaron Carter, which fed into her public feud with Lohan, US Weekly reports.
While emotions were definitely heightened at the time, in retrospect, the “How I Met Your Father” star admits that it was fun working with her peers.
“Mandy and I are great friends now, so this is very funny,” she explained while holding up the issue.
Duff isn’t the only star to open up about her less-than experience being chosen as one of the nine actresses to appear in the issue.
In 2014, Wood tweeted about the shoot, noting that she was “close to tears” following the shoot as she “felt like meat.”
She also revealed that she felt pressured to “shut up and do what you are told.”
