“Celebrity Jeopardy!” will have a different look in its next season.
Ken Jennings will be replacing Mayim Bialik as the “Jeopardy!” spinoff’s host, reports EW.
The pair split the hosting duties on the main series, but Bialik was the only host from the celeb-centric offshoot.
Bialik has not returned to host the long-running quiz show as she has decided to stand in solidarity with striking members of the Writers Guild of America. She also belongs to the Screen Actors Guild, which began striking in July.
Bialik walked off as host during the final week of filming for “Jeopardy!”’s 39th season. The show will enter its 40th season in September. “Celebrity Jeopardy!” is also scheduled to return the same month.
Bialik’s camp has not publicly commented.
Jennings responded to online criticism about his decision to continue hosting during the strikes when a user said former host Alex Trebek would not have made the same choice. Jennings replied with a screenshot of the legendary host running the show during the 2007-2008 writer’s strike.
“Jeopardy!” champion James Holzhauer has recently criticized the show’s decision to continue running without writers, utilizing unused questions and recycling old ones.
