o The NHL’s newest team, the Seattle Kraken, selected 30 players, one from each club with the exception of the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft.
o Ultimately, Seattle picked 12 defensemen, 15 forwards and three goaltenders.
o Each NHL team had certain players who were protected from the draft.
o Some of Seattle’s picks include Yanni Gourde from the Tampa Bay Lightning, Joonas Donskoi from the Colorado Avalanche and Mark Giordano from the Calgary Frames.
o The Kraken will kick of their inaugural season on the road against our very own Vegas Golden Knights on October 12th.

o With just a few days to go before the Olympic gymnasts start competition in Tokyo, Simone Biles' dominance is getting some social media recognition.
o Twitter launched a new GOAT (aka "greatest of all time") emoji specifically for the 24-year-old Olympian yesterday.
o The tiny illustrated goat is wearing a red leotard with a gold medal around its neck.
o Biles is the first Olympian to receive a custom emoji from Twitter. It will populate automatically when Twitter users post messages with the hashtags "#SimoneBiles" or "#Simone" throughout the Olympic Games, which kick off Friday and continue through August 8th.
o She's also the first female athlete to ever receive her own GOAT emoji, following in the footsteps of male athletes like Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.

o The PayPal-owned app is finally getting rid of one of their controversial features.
o They have axed their “global feed” which allows customers to see payments between other users even if they had no connections in common.
o Venmo, which has more than 70 million users worldwide, had been under scrutiny for years over the global feed feature, as well as the fact that it publicly displays users’ friends.
o Going forward, the app will still have a social feed that displays friends’ transactions, but users will also be allowed to opt out and keep their transactions completely private, according to the company.
