Bills and Titans to play Tuesday, pending COVID results

The Buffalo Bills will play this week's game against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET, the team confirmed on Thursday night.

ESPN's Adam Schefter notes that this is contingent upon the Titans having no more COVID positive tests over the next two days. If there are, there's been no announcement on what will happen with the game.

If the Titans game is moved to Tuesday, the Bills' Thursday Night Football matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs next week in Orchard Park will then be played "later in the weekend," according to the team, which could mean Saturday or Sunday.

This schedule adjustment comes after the Titans had two more confirmed COVID-19 cases in the organization on Thursday. The team facilities in Tennessee remain closed and will stay that way until the team has two straight days of negative tests. The earliest the Titans would be allowed back into their facilities would be Sunday.

As long as there are no more new positive COVID-19 cases in Tennessee over the next few days, the game will go on as scheduled on Tuesday. It would be the first NFL game played on a Tuesday since 2010 when the Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Minnesota Vikings in a game that was delayed due to a blizzard.

However, if the Titans have more positive COVID-19 cases heading into the weekend, then the Bills-Chiefs game will revert back to their originally scheduled Thursday night slot on Oct. 15.
