Joining forces with the iconic actor from The Office and a group of scientists, Billie Eilish and Rainn Wilson have come together to demand that world leaders take “urgent” action on climate policies.
Ahead of this week’s U.N. COP26 climate summit, the actor behind Dwight Schrute, Eilish, British explorer, Levison Wood, and son of Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin, Robert Irwin recorded a video message urging that we act as soon as possible.
In the video, Billie shared, “This year our leaders are deciding the global actions required on the environment climate emergency in a critical decade for our planet. We must stand together and speak up to save our planet, not just for us, but for our future generations, and we need urgent, urgent action now and to work together as one."
The COP26 global climate summit begins on October 31 and runs through November 12, taking place in Glasgow. Many experts have said that this summit is one of the last, greatest chances for world leaders to commit to climate solutions that would slow the climbing global temperatures.
In the video message, Wilson adds, “Courage. That's what our world's leaders need more than anything. The decisions that they make about the climate crisis in the next decade are the most important decisions in our planet's history."
Last month, the Happier Than Ever artist was one of the many public figures who urged Congress to support President Biden’s “Build Back Better” climate plan as part of the #CodeRedClimate initiative.
