Guy Fieri’s secret ingredient is a whole lotta green.
Last month, the celebrity chef signed a new three-year deal with the Food Network, which will allow him to continue making popular shows like “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” “Guy’s Grocery Games” and “Tournament of Champions.”
Now it’s been revealed the deal will earn Fieri $80 million over 36 months, according to Forbes.
Not only is this a massive increase from his previous $50 million contract, but it now makes him one of the highest-paid chefs on cable television, the outlet noted.
While Fieri has not commented on the financials, he previously expressed his excitement after extending his arrangement with the Food Network.
“Food Network is my home and I’m stoked to continue the partnership with the entire Discovery family,” he said. “The world of food is the ultimate unifier so having a global platform to share real-life stories of some of the most deserving chefs, restaurateurs, home cooks, entrepreneurs and anyone who just loves a good meal is an incredible opportunity. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’re cookin’ up next."
While he may be flushed with new cash, Fieri has also been active in helping others in the restaurant industry who have been struggling throughout the pandemic.
Fieri partnered with the National Restaurant Association to launch the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund (RERF), which has raised close to $25 million for 43,000 unemployed restaurant workers.
Through help from donors and businesses like PepsiCo. & UberEats, the fund helped deliver grants of $500 each to tens of thousands of workers who have suffered financial hardships due to the ongoing pandemic.
Fieri’s journey with Food Network began in 2006 after he won the second season of “The Next Food Network Star.”
Launched in 2007, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” is his longest-running series on the Food Network and is set to premiere more episodes as part of the new deal.
