Joining hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper during CNN’s live celebrations, singer John Mayer joined in remotely from a cat bar in Tokyo catching Andy and Anderson off guard and sending them both into fits of laughter. Anderson however was uncontrollable as Andy tried to keep the broadcast together, with Mayer explaining with a stone face how the bar he was at, Cats in the Box, was simply a place where one goes in the city to “enjoy a drink or two and talk to cats.”

"It's a cat bar," Mayer added as Andy pressed him about his surroundings, mostly cat-butts. "I don't know how much more clear I can be about the objective of this place." Andy then took it to an Anderson Cooper-face-changing level when he wanted to play a game of "Name That Pussy" with Mayer and his feline friends. Thankfully it was just for Cooper to guess one of the cats' names. He didn't.

John Mayer is currently on tour overseas into the spring, and when asked if his Dead & Company project could make a return in the new year he said coyly, "I’m not at liberty to say… just yet... But have hope, is what I’ll say."
