Armie Hammer’s estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, has finally weighed in on the ongoing controversy surrounding her former husband.
Chambers, who filed for divorce from the “Call Me By Your Name” star, reportedly commented on a photo of Hammer’s director and co-star in the Oscar nominated film, according to People Magazine.
Celebrity gossip column “Just Jared” posted a photo to Instagram of the director, Luca Guadagnino and actor Timothee Chalamet, while teasing a new movie project.
“Armie Hammer’s director and co-star from “Call Me By Your Name” (Luca Guadagnino and Timothee Chalamet) are teaming up for a... cannibal love story movie. (He’s not involved, just FYI),” the caption read.
The upcoming film follows the story of a woman who is “on a cross-country trip as she searches for the father she’s never met in an attempt to understand why she has the urge to kill and eat the people that love her,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“No. Words,” Chambers, 38, commented on the post, which was reposted to the Instagram account “Comments by Celebs.”
This is the first time Chambers has spoken out after several alleged messages that were leaked by an anonymous social media account suggesting her former husband had cannibal fantasies in the past.
Since the rumors began circulating, Hammer has dropped out of two projects, including “Shotgun Wedding” starring Jennifer Lopez and the upcoming Paramount+ series, “The Offer,” according to People Magazine.
"I'm not responding to these bull— claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic," Hammer said in a statement.
Hammer and Chambers have two children together, Harper Grace, 6, and Ford Douglas Armand, 4. The two tied the knot in May 2010 and split last year.
