Diva has come to us from a home that was no longer able to care for her because of human health related issues and disability. She adapted quickly to her foster home, gets along great with all of the other dogs and cats, walks nicely on a leash, and appears to be house trained and crate trained. She has not been tested around young children but has been around a 14 yo with whom she adores. She has such a gentle temperament and not easily startled by house noises or distractions. She loves to roam around the yard and go for walks and then settle down on the rug or on the couch for snuggles, baby talk and a nap. She has become quite playful with her foster siblings but is never rough or aggressive. Diva LOVES her meals and treats and gets so excited about that.
Diva is black and tan hound, about 5 or 6 years old. Weighs 48 lbs. She has a slight limp from what we believe was an old injury, possibly a broken leg. While her heartworm test was negative, she did test positive for Lyme and Ehrlichia. All this means is that at some point, she was bitten by an infected tick. We are currently treating her for this as a precaution and do not expect any side effects. If you are interested in meeting Diva, applications can be downloaded at www.RichmondRuffHouse.org/adopt.
Today's pet of the day is brought to you by Helping Hands Affordable Veterinary Surgery & Dental Care.
