SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Barney is a very sweet dog who absolutely adores his people, to the point that he must be by their side. He's great with everyone, and loves other small dogs. We don't know his history. He came to us from a NC shelter. Barney needs an experienced owner and some training to help him get past his anxiety over being separated from him people. He would be best suited to a home with people at home during the day to give him lots of love and companionship. This cute fellow is in great health and is fully vetted. He is ready for his new home!
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
