This is one HECK of a Feel Good on the :50's with Wicker and Wilde.
Thanks to a good Samaritan and a group of police officers, a woman survived getting trapped underneath her SUV. Police in Newark, Delaware, have released bodycam footage of officers and the good Samaritan, identified as Kyle Sant, lifting the SUV off the 70-year-old woman who was pinned under it.
The video (shown below) shows the woman’s left arm and leg stuck under the vehicle’s front tire, while her right leg was stuck in the wheel well. Police report that she forgot to put the SUV in park when she was getting out and she got stuck underneath it when it rolled. Sant, her neighbor, used a jack to try to lift the SUV before officers arrived, but it was too short. He says he “did everything in my power” to help her.
Sant helped four officers lift the vehicle enough so that a fifth officer could pull the woman out. According to police, she was treated at a local hospital for her injuries and authorities credit the fast response with saving her. Mark Logemann, chief of the New Castle County Emergency Medical Services Division, says, “The quick thinking and physical actions of the bystander and the officers from the Division of Police played a major role in this patient being protected from further injury and possibly death.”
