Buddy is a 6-month old basset hound, beagle mix that Henrico Humane Society rescued from a rural shelter after he was surrendered through no fault of his own. He is a typical playful puppy with lots of energy who still wants to cuddle with his humans. He is working on leash manners and house training with his fosters and they indicate both are going well. Buddy doesn't have accidents if he is kept on schedule (and rewarded for his successes). He does well in the crate and sleeps through the night. We can tell he is smart and eager to learn because he looks to his fosters for guidance when he needs something.
Buddy is such a friendly guy. He loves other dogs and has done well with older children. He likes younger children but because he is a puppy, he is still in the nippy stage and that may frighten younger children. If you want an all purpose pup to hang out with, watch movies or go on hikes with, or hang out at community events, Buddy is your guy!
