Colors mosquito's hate
Wicker and Wilde

Mosquitos love Wicker & Wilde – c’mon, who doesn’t? LOL! But if you, too, are prone to being bitten by mosquitoes we may have a solution for you.

New research shows that mosquito flies toward specific colors……..drum roll please……if you want the little stinkers to avoid you then you shouldn't wear red, orange or anything in that color family. Those colors emit a strong signal that attracts mosquito's to you. Oh and add black to that group….although we usually save slimming black for the winter.

Meanwhile if you want them to avoid you then you want to consider wearing the cooler shades of green, purple, blue and white.

Unfortunately, it’s more than just the color of your clothes…….

“Mosquitoes appear to use odors to help them distinguish what is nearby, like a host to bite,” said Jeffrey Riffell, a UW professor of biology.
“When they smell specific compounds, like CO2 from our breath, that scent stimulates the eyes to scan for specific colors and other visual patterns… and head to them.”
