If you live in Richmond then you should know you can put your Christmas tree out with regular recycling until next week. The is having a tree recycling event on the 14th, too, so you can take them to 1710 Robin Hood Road for the event. You can also drop the tree off earlier if you want to get rid of it now. Proof of residency is required, though.......

Chesterfield County residents are being offered free tree recycling until Jan. 31, 2023.
Trees can be dropped off at either 3200 Warbro Road in the Midlothian area or at 6700 Landfill Drive in Chester.

Henrico County will mulch your Christmas tree now through Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023.
It's a free service that preserves landfill space and protects the environment. Again, you have to show you live in Henrico.
Locations includ the Henrico County Government Center on Parham Road, the Eastern Government Center and at the Springfield Road and Charles City Road public use areas.
For all areas, trees must not iinclude tinsel, lights, ornaments, tree stands and/or water bowls.
Do not to place trees in you bin or out for weekly curbside trash collection service.
Trees are not eligible for pickup, even if they are cut into pieces
