Dorothy + Toto - Capital Area Rescue Effort

Dorothy and Toto are a bonded pair of Wheaten Terriers. They are thought to be purebred and litter mates. They are eight years old, and came to us when their elderly owner passed away. Both are very nice, quiet dogs who love people and who were in a home with several dogs of different sizes. They are in good health, spayed/neutered, up to date with vaccines and both tested negative for heart worms. We are seeking a quiet, predictable home for them with a secure yard for exercise and an owner able to be at home a good part of each day for companionship. We will not place them in a home with small children. We believe they are a good choice for a home most families and will make excellent lap dogs! The adoption fee is $300 for the pair.

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
