Edie is a very sweet (but camera-shy) little lady. She is a love bug and bonds to everyone she meets. We are seeking a home for Edie without larger dogs and with a very engaged and attentive owner. No small children. Experience with small dogs preferred. Edie came to us severely overweight. We are seeking an owner who will appropriately engage, exercise and feed our sweet girl, ensuring her health will be a priority. She would be an excellent choice for an active retired home or with an older family who has someone working at home.
Edie was morbidly obese most of her life. Because she carried so much weight, she was almost unable to walk, and her trachea collapsed from the fat around her neck. Our rescue was able to help Edie lose about 50% of her excess body weight and then had a surgical procedure performed to stent her trachea with an implant allowing her to breathe and swallow appropriately. She is recovered from surgery and is available for adoption. That said, we will look for a home that is committed to her best weight, best health and best interest.
