Here is a delicious coleslaw recipe that goes great with fried chicken or my favorite, fried fish. This recipe is best made a the day before you eat or serve it. This also is a great take along side dish to your next barbecue, fish fry or potluck. It's a great way to use cabbage and makes a great side. You can adjust the salt or sweetness to your taste, but I think this is a good place to start.
INGREDIENTS
1 TO 1 1/2 lbs cabbage
1 shredded medium to large carrot
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp grated onion
1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)
3 tbls sugar (adjust to your taste)
1 1/2 tsp salt
pepper to taste
1 tbls juice of lemon
*BE SURE TO REFRIGERATE AT LEAST 12 HOURS for best results
*YOU COULD ALSO JUST USE 1 CUP OF BUTTERMILK
