There are lots of DIY’ers who make crafts with corks, but I bet you they’ve never tried anything like this and after hearing this story may be a bit jealous that they have been so short-sighted……that’s because Kerry Haulotte created something truly original and useful!!
Now, it didn’t come fast or easy, though……..Kerry spent 3 years building a floating suit ……you heard me right, a floating suit, meaning a suit giving you the ability to float - made from 1,150 corks and he finally debuted his creation on a family trip to a Lake in Michigan where the family lives.
Kerry said the suit was meant to be a silly gag for the family to have fun with during their boat outings, his step daughter says the coolest thing she’s ever seen and loved floating in the water with it.
We’ve put the video up at Mix 98 One Richmond dot com……..it’s had 3 million views and 500,000 likes.
Kerry made the suit by drilling 3,450 holes through hundreds of corks, and he did it all in secrecy because he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to make it come to fruition. That and he was afraid people would think he was nuts.
And even his step daughter was worried about people being cruel on social media but everyone loves it – the video has 500 thousand likes……but all Kerry cares about is what his family thinks and they say they couldn’t have gotten a cooler stepdad
