Wicker and Wilde and everyone here at the Basie Rd. Radio Compound were all abuzz last week with the presence of a multitude of Virginia State Police with their lights ablaze.
A dude who got into a domestic dispute in King William County took off in his Winnebago and led the sheriff's department on a "high speed" chase. Then when the man crossed the Henrico County line around 2:30am, State Troopers took over.
Luckily enough the a 1992 Winnebago ran out of gas on Bethlehem Road right at Glenside.....and around the corner from Mix 98.1! The susect barricaded himself in the bathroom of the RV and Troopers tried negotiating with him. Well they musta got tired of waiting on him because they called in the tactical team and the armored rook vehicle.
They literally tore the Winnebago apart - see the video below! They got him out and around 8am, State Police said Wayne Scherer Alvis was finally taken into custody.
Charges are pending since they took him to Henrico Doctors Hospital for a medical evaluation.
