Wicker and Wilde shared some information about a salmonella outbreak possibly linked to onions.
Now it's official that the onions came from Chihuahua, Mexico and were distributed throughout Virginia and other parts of the country. The outbreak has made at least 59 Virginians ill, and 652 sick Nationally and 129 people have been hospitalized. Thankfully no deaths have been reported.
The recalled onions are fresh and whole, supplied by ProSource Produce of Idaho and Keeler Family Farms of New Mexico, were sold to restaurants, food services, wholesalers and retail or grocery stores.
Rebecca ended up having to toss one onion because it looked funny and she didn't know where it was from. Better safe than sorry.
The recall includes red, yellow and white whole, raw onions imported from between July 1 and Aug. 25 and they are marked as "MVP (product of MX.)"
