SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Piper is a very quiet, reserved little lady who is seeking a home with a loving adopter to share her golden years. This doll baby was likely used for breeding and is now ready to be someones beloved pet. She came in with benign mammary masses that we have had surgically removed and is now fully recovered. Additionally she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and has recently tested negative for heart worms and tick borne illnesses. Piper is kind to other dogs but does not seek them out. She is briefly affectionate with people, but likely has never been taught to be a pet. She prefers to lay in a bed by your feet and enjoy little naps. Piper would be a great choice for a home with seniors who want a low maintenance dog. She prefers to potty outside but will use pee pads if need be. A quiet home without small children or larger animals is a must.

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
