Sampson is a beautiful boy who originally came into the shelter as a stray, already a tripod. We do not know why he lost his front leg, but he does great without it! He is about 80 pounds and is fully grown. Sampson seems to be house trained and has been a gentleman with us. That said, we don't know how he may behave with children, cats or other dogs, so he may be best suited to a home as an only dog.
Sampson likes a couple good walks each day, but does not require a great deal of exercise. He is very strong so will need a strong owner. Sampson will make an awesome dog for the right home!
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
