Saoirse (pronounced SOAR-SHUH) arrived to RACC as a stray on June 11th. Despite being incredibly friendly and in great physical condition, she was sadly never reclaimed by an owner.
Saoirse is currently used as the resident RACC dog tester when we want to test other dogs with a female. What does this mean? It means she is SO good with other dogs that no matter who we put her with, it seems to bring out the best in the other dog, as she reads other dogs exceptionally well and changes her play style to fit theirs. If you have a resident dog at home (especially a male) looking for a friend, Saoirse may be who you've been waiting for! The individual who found Saoirse also mentioned that she was friendly with her resident cats, so she may be a dog who can coexist peacefully with all.
Saoirse is NOT a couch potato and will thrive in a home with an active owner, or a home with another dog who she can buddy-up with and burn her excess energy. She would also do best in a home with a yard where she can run, rather than a small city apartment. We are recommending a home with kids 8+, as she is a high energy girl who can be jumpy when she plays. Though she is jumpy, all of her actions are rooted in absolute sociability and sweetness. She simply wants to love and be loved!
