The Diamond Flea Market is returning to The Diamond for a second season starting May 15th, 2022. Two local stores, The SPOT and Rotate VA, are continuing to partner and bring the Flea Market back to the Capital city. One Sunday a month, from 12 - 6 pm, the event will create a space for over 100 vendors to sell a wide range of products from vintage clothing and sneakers to home goods and custom accessories. Last year, the Flea Market boasted over 1,000 people at each event. The Diamond Flea Market has also partnered with Dreamers Academy Foundation Inc., as an official sponsor and will be donating a portion of the proceeds to DAF to help with their community endeavors.
“We had such a successful 2021. This year we are looking to not only grow, but create a new experience for our vendors and patrons each time they come out to the Flea Market. The Diamond Flea Market is not only a hub for small businesses to grow and gain exposure but an event for family and friends to have fun.” - James Crump-Wallace, CFO of The Diamond Flea Market.
The participants of the Flea Market include a large number of local businesses as well as vendors from Tidewater, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C areas. The partners are excited to share that they host vendors from as far as Atlanta in this year’s Flea Market. The Flea Market will host food trucks, games, and live entertainment to provide shoppers a full experience.
The SPOT was curated by five creatives, James Crump-Wallace, Alex Tucker, Duane Doku, Brian Iwuamadi and Derrick Iwuamadi who bring a unique experience, perception and collaborative concept to Richmond, VA. Very much a reflection of the founders, The SPOT showcases diverse talent and quality products from Virginia-based brands while also creating opportunities for other artists and creators to bring their ideas to life from concept to completion.
Brian and Derrick Iwuamadi are also the owners of Rotate, a buy, sell, trade shop that recently moved to the 300 block of Broad Street. The brothers, originally from Virginia Beach, offer a variety of sneaker exclusives in store as well as a vast selection of vintage streetwear and new high-end street wear items. The store and the trademark orange ceiling offer a welcoming vibe for its staff and customers.
