The annual celestial event began on Friday and lasts through August 24. The peak for wishing on the shooting stars is August 12 and 13, and to view them best you should find a spot away from “light pollution.” Don’t forget to bring a chair and blankets so you can sit or lie down and look up at the sky for long periods.
