Another fantastic Feel Good on the :50's for you from Wicker & Wilde:
A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper puts herself in harm’s way to stop a reckless driver heading toward thousands of people running in a 10k. Early last Sunday, a vehicle "speeding at an excessive rate", zipped through multiple barricades meant to keep traffic off the course of the charity run which involved nearly seven-thousand participants and support staff.
The driver evaded several other sheriff’s deputies who were trying to pull her over. That’s when Florida Highway Patrol Master Trooper Toni Schuck took control of the situation and used her own police cruiser to stop the speeding car.
The impact put both Schuck and the driver in the hospital. Later in the day the driver was identified as a 52-year-old woman who was 3 times the legal limit. The driver made her first court appearance on Monday (Video below). Fortunately, Schuck was soon released and continues to recover at home.
On Monday, the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle tweeted their thanks to Trooper Schuck.
Those wishing to contact the trooper, who is reportedly continuing her recovery from her home, can send well wishes to her….
