SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Tucker is a very sweet dog who is both strong and energetic, so would be a great companion to an active family without small children. He's a happy fellow who loves people, loves playing and is absolutely beautiful! That said, it is important to note that Tucker is a resource guarder when it comes to other animals. He does not share his toys, treats or food, and will need a knowledgable owner and trainer to make him a good choice for a home with other animals. We believe he is best suited to being an only pet, and if he is, he will quickly steal your heart and provide you with lots of laughter! Tucker is in great health, is fully vetted (neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and heart worm negative) and ready for adoption!
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
