The analysis found that Huntington Beach, California is best prepared to beat an army of hungry corpses. The city has a high share of healthy residents, strong protections and high mobility, making it the top city to deal with a wave of zombies.
While California is home to the top city on the list, it also has some of the worst cities for survival when zombies attack. Among them are San Bernardino (No. 192), Palmdale (No. 194), and Salinas (No. 197). One of the main reasons these cities would be eaten alive is they have some of the worst infrastructure in the nation, according to the analysis.
The absolute worst city in the U.S. for facing a horde of hungry zombies is Laredo, Texas. It has some of the lowest rankings when it comes to access to supplies, weapons and hunting-gear, and one of the top rankings on a scale of vulnerability, which looked at natural hazards, number of military bases and hospitals per capita.
