Always remember to sweep under your bed!
On Sunday, Agusta, Georgia resident Trish Wilcher just thought things were a little dusty under her bed when she reached under and found a slithery surprise.

"Before going to bed, I spotted what I thought was a piece of fuzz on the floor, went to reach for it, and it moved," she told local station WJBF on Monday. "And then a second later another piece moved, and I went to my husband, 'We have snakes!'"
And, as People reports, not just a few, but 17 baby snakes and their mother!
Her husband nabbed a grabber tool and was able to place the reptiles into a linen bag and release them by a nearby creek.
She added though, "Still not confident that was the last of those things. Scared s—less to be honest! No sleep tonight… just glad I saw that little tiny piece of what I thought was fuzz and went to pick it up!!!"
On Monday she posted photos and recollections of the shaky experience to Facebook.
"Trapper Dan is coming today… I am struggling to move about the house much less sit down anywhere!!!" she wrote, jokingly adding, "I may need a cardiologist after this!!!"
The Wilchers now know they had garter snakes in their home, but no additional snakes were discovered. Their guess is that since some land had recently been cleared up the road, the snakes matriculated over to the Wilcher home to find a safe haven to have the babies.
Environmental educator Camilla Sherman reminds us that snakes love heat, and hence are more active in the summertime.
But she further explains that there’s also a somewhat altruistic reason those snakes might’ve been there -- to eat mice.
If snakes know there are rodents in your home, they might move in. So if you want to avoid waking up to 18 snakes, make sure you check for mice first.
Luckily, for Georgians, the breeds of snakes that might make their way near their homes are more than likely non-venomous. And, says Sherman, “if you give them a way out, they’re going to take it. They’re not going to chase you.”
Still, where’s that broom?!
