After White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany called Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot at her Thursday press conference a "derelict mayor," Lightfoot swiped back, calling McEnany a "Karen."

With Lightfoot tweeting, "Hey, Karen. Watch your mouth."

"Karen" is the latest name to take hold on social media meaning a rude, white woman exploiting her privilege. According to the Huffington Post, Lightfoot confirmed to the Chicago Sun-Times she used the name in that context.

Thursday, McEnany alleged that Lightfoot was "doing a very poor job at protecting her streets."

President Donald Trump has regularly attacked Chicago, citing gun violence as "worse than Afghanistan."

Another "Karen" has made headlines recently due to her actions going viral and resulting in a Starbucks barista receiving over $100,000 in virtual tips.

The customer, whom a Starbucks barista stood up to after she refused to wear a mask, is now asking for half of the virtual tips the barista received.

Customer Amber Lynn Gilles wants half of the more than $100,000 in virtual tips that Starbucks employee Lenin Gutierrez received from sympathetic strangers, according to a CBS story Thursday.

Gutierrez stood up to the "Karen" who refused to wear a mask in San Diego last month. He ended up getting more than $100,000 in virtual tips through a GoFundMe from strangers.

The internet has done many great things over the years, but possibly one of its greatest accomplishments is the naming of all angry middle-aged women; "Karen."

However, people on social media are now struggling to come up with the male counterpart of "Karen" with a number of names currently being suggested, reports New York Post.
