Though in the past she's been No. 1 by association, with features on songs that have reached the peak position, including Doja Cat’s "Say So” and Tekashi 6ix9ine’s “TROLLZ.” This magnificent feat marks the first time Minaj has reached this summit on her own.

Hailed as a pseudo sequel to Minaj's 2014 smash “Anaconda,” “Super Freaky Girl,” which samples Rick James’ 1981 hit “Super Freak,” currently boasts the biggest pure sales week for any song released in 2022 thus far, with an impressive 89,000 units.

To celebrate all the exciting news Nicki took to Twitter and IG to thank her dedicated Barbz. “You did it barbz. You did it. I love you so much. like so so SO much. Thank you,” she captioned a screenshot revealing that "Super Freaky Girl" is the first Hip Hop song by a solo woman with no accompanying acts to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 since Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)" did so in 1998.

“Super Freaky Girl” is set to appear on Minaj’s impending fifth studio album, which according to a release is “coming soon.” Which is also the case for the track’s official music video.

In the meantime, this coming Sunday Nicki is set to show out at the MTV VMA’s where she’ll be performing, taking on emcee duties alongside Jack Harlow and LL Cool J, and receiving the highest honor of the the night, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
