Two weeks before the second season premiere of their show, that led to their relationship, that led to that song, you knows the one, Disney+ released the track "Even When/The Best Part,” a Rodrigo/Bassett duet that will appear in the "Valentine's Day" episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

The episode will spotlight Nini played by Rodrigo and Ricky by Bassett struggling to physically spend V-Day together. In one adorably Disney plot twist, Ricky takes a bus to Denver to surprise Nini with the new love song he wrote for her titled "Even When” - only for Nini to surprise Ricky outside his old house in Salt Lake City and sing her own romantic ballad "The Best Part.”

With Bassett on guitar and Rodrigo on ukulele, the two simultaneously leave voicemails for each other at the end of the episode, sing their respective songs, with the end result being "Even When/The Best Part".

During a conversation with Billboard, Bassett called the song a "truly special duet,” adding, "I played guitar when we filmed it, and sang along to Olivia’s vocals in my ear while she shot her side separately! I’m stoked to see how it all came together and really think people are gonna love it! Hands down: one of my favorites this season!”

Season two of HSMTMTS comes on the heels of both of their successful breakout careers. Rodrigo's debut single "Drivers License” (yes that’s the one) pretty much broke all the records and made everyone notice, and then Bassett dropped “Lie Lie Lie” and it was whatever. But still, these two and their involvement in the third best Disney love triangle (the first two being Aaron Carter, Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan, and duh Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez of course) have become a a pretty huge topic of conversation these past few months. So when we heard they had a new duet, we were like wait, what?

But okay, enough talk, it’s time tot listen, check out "Even When/The Best Part” below.
