There were speeches from her "Married...with Children" co-stars Katey Sagal and David Faustino. And "Dead to Me" co-star Linda Cardellini and creator Liz Feldman. Sagal stayed with Applegate at the podium during her speech, for support.

Applegate thanked everyone and joked about her physical condition. "Oh, by the way, I have a disease. Did you not notice? I'm not even wearing shoes. You're supposed to laugh at that!"

The "Anchorman" actress also shared, “I’ve had a really interesting life. The life started as being a little girl waiting in line to see the first 'Star Wars' on this very street at that very theater and looking at these things going, ‘who are these people, what do they do? Do they do something right, do they do something wrong? Whatever it is - I want one, I effing want one!’ and I was 5-years-old. So, this day means more to me than you could possibly imagine.”
