On screen lovebirds and off screen besties.
Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer portrayed the on-again, off-again and finally on-forever couple of Ross and Rachel from 1994-2004 on hit television show “Friends” and they remain super buddies to this day. Every few years they even have to quell rumors of real life romance.
These days they’re just sending jokes back and forth via social media for their legions of fans to adore.
Most recently Aniston posted a tasteful photo of herself taking a shower with the cryptic caption “Something’s coming 9.8.22” with a shower head emoji attached.
Fans in the comments were so “excited” and simply “cannot wait.” Schwimmer decided to post himself with a guess at would could be coming from Aniston and her account.
In his own less comfortable, more laughable photo, Schwimmer is also in the shower but covered in soap and looking to be having some issues. His cheeky caption directed toward pal Aniston? “A towel I hope?”
Then Aniston even responded in the comments! “Schwim?! Trying to steal my thunder?” The “Friends” fans were having a field day in the comments. Many were dropping their own favorite Ross and Rachel memories from the show with classic quotes like “He’s your lobster.”
For those still holding out hope for a real life romance, the two put those rumors to bed during the 2021 “Friends” reunion on HBO Max, saying they had crushes on each other but nothing was ever acted upon.
