These ladies live for Tom!
Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field star in the new trailer for “80 for Brady,” as best friends on a quest to see their favorite player in what may be his and their last Super Bowl appearance.
The comedy, which is inspired by a true story, sees the four legendary actresses as best friends and massive New England Patriots/Tom Brady fans. The crew embarks on a road trip to the 2017 Super Bowl in Houston.
“This could be Tom’s last one. He’s almost 40 – that’s like 80 in people years,” Tomlin says at the beginning of the clip. She’s quickly reminded that they are, in fact, 80.
The ladies make it to the Super Bowl, without tickets. They go through a number of hijinx to make it into the big game including acting as Billy Porter’s backup dancers and entering a hot wing eating contest hosted by Guy Fieri.
Brady doesn’t even speak until the end of the trailer and it’s an on field moment and a yelling of “Lets go!” He is set to appear in the film and also acts as producer.
Brady’s not the only player appearing in the trailer as Rob Gronkowski gets a quick cameo. As Fonda comes up on him in the locker room she looks up at him wide-eyed and says, “So big.” To which he replies with a simple, “Thank you.”
The trailer rounds out with the group accidentally ingesting some type of hallucinogen at a party which ends with Moreno seeing a room full of Guy Fieris.
The film was directed by Kyle Marvin.
“80 for Brady” arrives in theaters on Feb. 3, 2023.
