Now it’s Ralphie’s turn to save Christmas.
In HBO Max’s sequel to beloved holiday classic, 1983’s “A Christmas Story,” a grown up Ralphie (Peter Billingsley reprising his role) brings his now growing family back to his childhood home in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, for the holidays after his father has passed.

In the first full trailer of the upcoming movie Ralphie promises his mother (Julie Hagerty) he will take care of Christmas this year in the absence of his father. Then narration from Billingsley comes on as his inner-monologue questions, “What have I done? And now it was all up to to me?”
Ralphie and wife (Erinn Hayes) bring their children to Higbee's department store to see Santa just as Ralphie and his little brother did in the original and hijinx ensue.
“Don’t let him kick you in the face,” Ralphie yells to his children as they race off to sit on St. Nick’s lap.
Much of the original is referenced in the sequel’s trailer in fun, updated ways, with Ralphie providing narration just as before.
“A Christmas Story Christmas” will be available to stream on HBO Max starting Nov. 17.
