Kim Kardashian has spent the past 15 years chronicling her life on television, sharing private moments with viewers around the world.
Her fans have witnessed her marriages and divorces, seen her children grow up, and watched as the 42-year old went from Paris Hilton’s closet organizer to a billionaire powerhouse who can hold her own among both Hollywood elite and leaders of the free world.
So, would it be that much of a stretch if she were to find love on camera too?
Kardashian almost convinced her family that she was open to the idea on a recent episode of “The Kardashians” in which she sat down her mother and manager, Kris Jenner, as well as some of her siblings, to tell them that she was in talks to be the lead on “The Bachelorette.”
To further enhance the veracity of her claim, Kardashian said she was working with Disney producer Rob Mills (“The Bachelorette” airs on ABC, which is owned by Disney), urging Jenner to call him to confirm that she was going to be on the popular reality dating show.
Kardashian’s older sister, Kourtney Kardashian Barker, said “there’s no way you’re doing ‘The Bachelorette,’” while the youngest of the Kardashian Jenner clan, Kylie Jenner, appeared to encourage Kim’s decision, gleefully asking if it was true.
Khloe Kardashian, who was also present for the conversation, was unconvinced, stating that “100 percent you’re not doing that” and telling the group “there’s no way in hell she’s doing that.”
In a talking head filmed at a later time, Kris Jenner spoke directly to the camera, telling Kim that she was not allowed to do the show. “I’m your ‘momager,’ manager, mother. Name a title, I’ll put any hat on that you want, but you’re not doing this.”
As Today reports, Kris eventually called Mills, who went along with the prank and told the media maven that they were “90 percent of the way there.”
Kim then revealed to her family that it was just a joke, and Kris seemed to take it well. “These kids love a good prank,” she said in an interview, before noting that she’s “always the victim of the prank!”
While Kim Kardashian may not be the next bachelorette, maybe Art Vandelay or Todd Kraines could be the next bachelor. What do you think, Auntie Kris?
