Apparently you’re all a bunch of "certified freaks, seven days a week.” Google Trends has revealed the most searched definitions of 2020 and Cardi B’s beloved and controversial term “WAP” was certainly not spared the search bar.

After dropping her most recent single, “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, the internet could not stop looking up what the abbreviation truly stood for. However, the lyric “macaroni in a pot” really should have clued you in on what Ms. Belcalis was rapping about. Additionally, Google revealed that the most searched lyrics this year were in fact for, “WAP.”

“WAP” comes in at number one on Google’s most searched definitions, but sits atop four more terms that really seem to sum up the comedy and tragedy that 2020 has so brilliantly bestowed upon us.

Google’s top five most searched definitions are as followed; “WAP,” “Entanglement,” “Antebellum,” “Pandemic,” and “Asymptomatic.” Five words that could easily sum up the cultural and historical moments of this year. Plus, if this gives you any further indication on how this year went, Google’s most searched “Beauty How to” was “How to cut men’s hair at home.”

So whether you were grabbing a “bucket and a mop” for this “WAP” or simply because you were cleaning up after an at-home men’s haircut, you were likely a contributor to these highly popular Google searches in 2020.
