Fans are buzzing over the latest photo of Angelina Jolie.

In honor of World Bee Day, Jolie posed alongside a swarm of bees (yes, on and around her) to talk about the importance of preserving bees with the help of National Geographic.

The photo was shot by amateur beekeeper Dan Winters.

In the caption, National Geographic described how Jolie is involved with a Women for Bees initiative and went on to describe the "complex" process of doing a photoshoot during a pandemic using live bees.

"Angelina Jolie has long been involved with the UNHCR as a special envoy, and now she's also working with UNESCO and Guerlain on a Women for Bees initiative that will ultimately build 2,500 bee hives and restock 125 million bees by 2025 - while training and supporting 50 women beekeepers," the caption reads.

In order to shoot the risky shot, Winters used a pheromone called queen mandibular pheromone (QMP) to help the bees gather on certain areas of Jolie's body without swarming.

Additionally, they shot in a dark room to help keep the bees calm. "Everyone on set, except Angelina, had to be in a protective suit. It had to be quiet and fairly dark to keep the bees calm," the caption continues.

Additionally, Jolie revealed that she had to forego her shower for three days as too many scents from shampoos and perfumes would confuse the bees.

"It was so funny to be in hair and makeup and wiping yourself with pheromone," the "Maleficent" actress shared.

She went on to say "you put a few things up your nose and in your ears so you don't give them as many holes to climb in."

Still, the extra precautions didn't keep the bees from going in places they didn't belong. "I did have one that got under my dress the entire time. It was like one of those old comedies," Jolie shared.
