We sure are thankful for newly named CMA Duo of the Year, Brothers Osborne, so it’s only fitting they took over our airwaves for a Thanksgiving special.
John and TJ Osborne filled in for Audacy’s Katie Neal as they hosted their very own, “Not For Everyone” Thanksgiving, sharing favorite memories from Thanksgivings past.
“We don’t know how to cook, so we figured this is the least we could do,” TJ said of filling in for Katie. “We’re here for our friends,” added John.
The BROS re-lived some of their favorite “Misfit Thanksgiving” stories from years past when celebrating with fellow Country stars including Maren Morris and Kacey Musgraves. Turns out Musgraves is not particularly a fan of the Thanksgiving spotlight…
“We have this thing… everybody eats and drinks and gets nice and full and good and drunk and we do a thing where everyone sitting at the table has to get up — you get up and you have to say what you’re thankful for,” John explained.
“[Kacey Musgraves] forgot that’s something that we do. Kacey is actually a wonderful, lovely person but she’s actually very shy… when it comes to public speaking in a group, it just mortifies her. She got crazy stoned and came back in… [and] was like ‘are you freakin’ kidding me right now? I pass. PASS!’”
To this day, the Brothers say Kacey is the only one who has ever gotten a "pass" on the thankful exercise.
So what do John and TJ plan to share during the thankful exercise this year?
“Good Lord, to get back to life as we knew it,” said TJ. “I think with so much contention, and so much arguing and politics and headlines, everyone’s just been at each other and I feel like I’m so thankful that we made it through.” Touché!
