Laying out and dancing on the beach, the Latin-infused beat mixed with drums make for a very fun and twerkable track. Their joint verses are a perfect display of just how well these two work together. "Shoot your shot like a free throw / Just know this p**** ain't free, though/ My BD is a Migo/ B****, your BD is a zero / My back shots sound like bongos / I ain't scared to admit I'm a freak ho (Ah)/ At least I'm gettin' my money (Yeah)/ Y'all hoes broke, p**** took more turns than a key hole (Hahaha)."

Not sharing many details, Cardi B initially teased the cover art on her socials paired with the caption "BONGOS Cardi X Megan Thee Stallion 9/8." In the artwork, the two are seen in coordinating one-pieces, heels, and curly, colorful hair.

"Bongos" is their second collab since their 2020 release of their controversial hit "WAP," that had the FCC, politicians, and believers of the patriarchy in a frenzy.

Over the summer, Cardi took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to reminisce about the backlash she faced when "WAP" was released. “Y’all remember when the FCC almost sued me cuz I performed WAP at the GRAMMYs? What about when all the Republicans literally harassed me over it? On the news everyday… Y’all remember? Oooohhh cuz I do,” she wrote.
