Oh those crazy Chrises!

Chris Hemsworth displayed his “Thor”-ny sense of humor as a birthday nod to his friend and co-"Avenger," Chris Evans, who turned 40.

Hemsworth, 37, shared a photo on Sunday with the caption:

"Happy 40th birthday Chris Evans, you'll always be number 1 in my book."

Only it was a different Chris in the pic — Chris Pratt.

It seems even a simple birthday greeting becomes complicated in the multi-verse of the "Avengers."

The funny stunt goes right along with the overall snarky ha-has that Hemsworth and Pratt are known for, and this time they’re pulling it on the more serious Chris of the Marvel Universe.

As People surmised, the photo shared by Hemsworth appears to be a behind-the-scenes shot from the forthcoming “Thor: Love And Thunder film,” in which both Hemsworth and Pratt, 41, are set to reprise their Marvel roles.

Fans decided to get in on the fun in the comments too.

"Chris Evans looks different😂," said one fan.

Another quipped, "Man. Chris has changed over the years 😂”

And maybe the best comment, "Come on…. That's obviously Chris Pine.”

If the multi-Chrises are confusing you too, you’re in good company. It seems Arnold Schwarzenegger — Chris Pratt’s father-in-law — even mixed up his name in an Instagram virtual telethon for Greater Good last year, where the Terminator popped into an interview with Pratt.

Schwarzenegger, 73, referred to Pratt as his Marvel costar before quickly correcting himself. "Hello Chris Evans. Not Chris Evans, sorry. I've screwed up this whole thing right from the beginning. Chris Pratt… Sorry about that. I should know your name, that's for sure - you're my favorite son-in-law," Schwarzenegger said

But Pratt laughed it off and joked back, "I'm your only son-in-law! I better be your favorite."

You don’t want to get the Terminator mad. But as for Captain America, go right ahead.

Chris Hemsworth is a frequent Instagrammer, but it’s usually in service of showing off his gymrattiness.

But it’s the way he always balances it off with his sense of humor that his fans love.
