For Clem, the pandemic has made her “a little kookier” than she already was, adding “I’ve got crazy brains… I don’t know how to describe it. It’s just kind of a feeling, a sort of omnipresent sort of energy thing.”
Earlier this year, Cherry Glazerr released their single, “Big Bang” and Clem tells us she has leaned heavily into popular music that makes her feel good, which has crept into her own sound. “I’ve been listening to a lot of Pop and house and techno, and I really like that stuff.”
She continued, “I sort of figured, why don’t I try making the music that I love to listen to so I’ve been in a real groove, bass-heavy zone, and that’s just been feeling like what my heart wants.”
However, for Creevy she makes it clear that she will never shake her roots. “I’m always gonna have guitars as part of my show and a part of my music and a part of my life because it’s just so natural for me.”
Clem is in a new "zone" where she says she is “trying on different moods while also blending my roots with kind of what I want the next chapter to look like.”
Creevy still thoroughly enjoys making rock music. She got her start at the age of 15 playing loud guitar music at house shows in Los Angeles. From an early age, her focus was making punk music with her friends. “That’s something that I always find myself just coming back to because it’s my heart and soul.”
Currently, Clem is working on Cherry Glazerr’s next full-length album, where she takes a new leap into a new realm of music. However, the artist says she isn’t fearful of trying something new because she “really trusts” her audience and adds “I think that if I’m doing what I want to be doing other people will also like it.”
