LISTEN NOW: Common and Alexandria Riley on 'Silo'
Romeo International sat down with series stars Common and Alexandria Riley to discuss what’s in store for the new season along with the real-life applications that the show brings to light.
I think the scary part is the fact that I'm watching the show, and I have to ask myself, one, how much does the truth cost? Two the real-life applications of the Silo, its classism, and is this how it’s suppose to be?
"I always, from the 1st season, felt like it was reflecting a lot about what we experience as people," shares Common. "Not only, of course, did it feel present day. It felt like because we've been told to do this and do that, and we’ve been told this is the truth, and this is what history is. But then, I started realizing in so many generations, people were told certain things in so many different times and they accepted them."
"It was those who said, 'Man, I don't know if that's the truth,' and those are the people who changed things for the better, or because they questioned some of the things that the powers that be just put on us, a lot of people were talking, a lot of people lost their lives, gave their lives in sacrifice so that the truth could come out and that's really essentially who Camille and Robert want to be like. We both are doing it for a higher cause to me."
