Corey Taylor will hit the road for a 19-date run of socially distanced and COVID-19 safe shows across the country on the heels of his debut studio album CMFT. The tour kicks off on May 18 in Tempe, AZ and will wrap up a month later in Lincoln, NE on June 19.
The show will see Taylor and his band performing songs from his debut record CMFT as well as covers from his other outfits, Slipknot and Stone Sour. Support on all dates will come from the Cherry Bombs, an all-female group of aerialists, fire eaters, and dancers that’s led by Taylor’s wife Alicia Taylor.
“It’s the full shebang,” Taylor told Rolling Stone. “The Cherry Bombs are gonna do their show, with fire and aerial and rock and all the good stuff, then me and the boys will get up and play for, like, two hours.”
Taylor’s excitement for the tour is through the roof as he calls it “a chance to act alive again, and a step towards ‘back to normal.'”
While Taylor has already performed a COVID-safe show during the pandemic, he’s putting the proper precautions in place to ensure a safe experience. A statement on Taylor’s website addressed the safety guidelines that will be enforced at each show:
“Be advised, that these shows, regardless of State guidelines, COVID Health Protocols Shall Be Strictly Enforced By Purchaser for all Employees, Patrons and Artists Throughout Entirety Of Event. All Patrons Are Required To Wear Masks At All Times When NOT In Their Pod or At Their Table / Seat. Patrons Shall Be Required To Practice Social Distancing At All Times When NOT In Their Pod or At Their Table / Seat. There will be Temperature Checks at Entry. Patrons Included In Each Pod or Table Shall Be Required To Enter Venue Together. Together we can stop COVID-19.”
