Cyndi Lauper wants two things for you right now: that you get out the vote and that you experience a little hope during a time when many things feel bleak. The iconic artist sat down with AJ Gibson and Mikalah Gordon from RADIO.COM's CHANNEL Q to not only open up about how she’s affecting change, but also to discuss the debut of her freshly remixed track “Hope.”
The signature, Cyndi symphonic bop takes on a new meaning after the GRAMMY Award-winning, DJ Tracy Young puts her delightful, dance-centric, spin on the tune. The song, which is already filled with optimism dives deeper into the joy that both Lauper and Young are trying to facilitate for us.
During her interview with AJ and Mikalah, Cyndi explains her experience working with DJ Tracy and shares that she feels honored to work with the first female DJ to ever win a GRAMMY award for mixing.
Lauper, who has been a champion of LGBTQ+ rights, also touches upon the upcoming election and says, “Listen, I can’t tell anyone who to vote for, but you gotta vote because when you vote, you’re voting for someone who’s going to represent you, who’s going to help you… you want to vote for someone who understands your situation and has done things already to help.”
