LISTEN NOW: Danielle Kotch on 'Crystal Lake'

Co-star Danielle Kotch portrays Claudette, a Crystal Lake camp counselor whose story is directly connected to the events surrounding young Jason Voorhees’ drowning. Danielle has been a horror fan since childhood and started acting at just five years old on Sesame Street. Her diverse acting credits span hit television and film projects including Elsbeth, Sinister, and 9-1-1: Nashville. Crystal Lake marks an exciting career milestone as she joins one of horror’s most recognizable franchises.

Danielle sat down with Romeo International to share some insights into the upcoming scary season and explain why both new and seasoned fans will be drawn to the story.

When you received the script, what did you fall in love with first: the writing or the cast lineup that you’d be working alongside?

"I think I fell in love with the writing first when I was even in the audition process because I got to read the pilot. You could already tell that it was a drama series, but had so much comedy in it. So there was so much to play with. And especially with Claudette, she's such a character. I'm really eager to see how people react in seeing everyone be created beforehand. And like you said, everyone's going to have their own version of what they want the show to be. Because 'Friday the 13th' is such a big fan base. But I think people are going to enjoy the fact that we still wanted to show appreciation to original scenes and things that happen in the original movies throughout the prequel. I'm sure people are going to want more certain aspects in other aspects. There's always going to be people that have something to say. But I'm really proud of the work that everyone has done and I think everyone was so passionate about their character, the storyline, what's happening in the show, that I hope that comes across and people can see that."
